Windows 10 (x64) or higher is required to run Proclaim on Windows. Running an earlier version of Windows will cause Proclaim to show a banner recommending a Windows update.
What is Compatibility Mode?
If you are running Windows 10 and still see the banner, it’s possible you’re running Proclaim in Compatibility mode. Compatibility mode is Microsoft’s way of allowing you to run older programs on newer operating systems.
Proclaim Requirements
Proclaim can only run properly on newer versions of Windows. While running Proclaim in Compatibility mode may work, it may show a banner saying you’re running an older operating system (even if you are running a newer version of Windows).
Turning Off Compatibility Mode
To see if you’re running Proclaim in Compatibility mode and turn it off:
- Locate the Proclaim icon in your desktop or toolbar.
- Right-click and select Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Uncheck the box and click Apply.
Relaunch Proclaim. It should no longer show notifications saying you’re running an unsupported version.
