If you receive a sync error within Proclaim here are a few common solutions.
Solution 1: Check the internet connection
Check the strength of your internet connection. If you are using a WiFi connection, try to use a wired connection to the internet, as wired connections typically have less reliability issues.
Solution 2: Check for Firewalls, Proxy, VPNs, or Antiviruses
Disable any security software that may be interfering with the connection of Proclaim to its servers. Mcafee, Aura, 360 security are known for interfering with these connections.
If your IT department routes your connection through a Proxy, you may need to contact your IT department for a solution.
Solution 3: Reset Network Hardware (Windows Only)
The network card configuration might be preventing communication with Proclaim's server. Please try the following steps to reset the network card settings (note: this works for Windows 10 and 11).
- Go to the Start menu.
- Type “Command Prompt”.
- Right-click “Command Prompt”.
- Click “Run as administrator” at the bottom of the screen.
- At the prompt, type:”netsh winsock reset” (without quotes)
- Hit Enter.
- Restart the Computer.
Solution 4: Check for pending files for upload.
If you started downloading a file to a presentation and then moved to a different computer, the upload may be cached on Proclaim and synced across devices. This state will cause a sync error. To resolve this try one of the following:
- Option 1: Let Proclaim finish the upload from the first computer.
- Option 2: Cancel the upload from the sync Window.
If none of those options work, you can reinstall Proclaim on the original computer to remove the upload cached command.
Solution 5: Transfer to support
If the above solutions do not work, follow these directions to send your logs to Proclaim support.
