There are a few ways to change how a service item appears in the Order of Service. Many items, like Song, Bible, and Announcement items, have a special field in Edit mode that lets you update the title on the slide and Order of Service at the same time.
If you don’t want to change it in both places, you can change the title of the item in the Order of Service. This will “break the link” between the two, and you’ll be able to update the slide independently.
There are times, however, when this can produce some unexpected results. One such time is when you choose a song or bible item, modify the title in the Order of Service, then duplicate the presentation to repurpose the times in a different service.
When you try to update your song item, Proclaim sees that your Order of Service title is custom, so your custom title is preserved while the song item updates to the new song you chose. And, because the fields don’t match, you won’t be able to update the title from the Edit view as you expect.
This can be a bit disorienting, but the fix is easy.
To resolve this, all you need to do is select and clear the name in the Order of Service. This will reset the title to pull from the fields in the service item and allow you to update the item name from the fields in the service item.
