Use Proclaim to create custom confidence templates that meet the specific needs of your team. Show these on the confidence monitor to let whoever's on stage know what's next in your presentation.
To get started, go to Settings > Default Confidence. Select a template to use as a starting point, then click Edit template (1) to make changes. If you want to use this template for all service item types, click Apply to all item types (2).
You can also do this from the Confidence tab in the Edit view with a service item selected. To start from scratch, select Media > Create Confidence Template.
When the template editor is open, choose the aspect ratio of your confidence monitor (on the left of the panel) and start making changes. Delete any elements you don’t want and click the Confidence Items dropdown (on the right of the panel) to add new ones.
Confidence Item options are:
- Clock shows the current time when the presentation is On Air. In the template editor, this will always show as 10:00 AM.
- Current slide content shows any content and foreground images. Check the box for the video player to show any video content.
- Hymn number shows the number of a hymn if available.
- Next slide content shows some or all of the next slide (the amount is configurable).
- Notes shows any notes for the selected service item.
- Service item title the title of the selected service item.
- Song heading shows the section of the song you’re singing.
- Stage Message Overlay is the message sent from the operator to the confidence monitor. Toggle "Show overlay" to edit and show what it'll look like when sent to the confidence monitor.
- Timer displays any active confidence timers, recording timers, and countdown clocks.
- Video countdown timer shows how much longer the playing video item has to run
- Virtual Screen Preview shows exactly what will appear on one of the configured displays - with the ability to configure which of the displays is shown
Taken together, these items provide very powerful and flexible options for configuring confidence monitors to meet your requirements - including the ability for different service items types to use different confidence monitor templates.
For example, the default template shows:
- A clock item at the bottom right
- The current slide content in the main part of the monitor
- A hymn number (if available) near the top right
- The first line of the next slide at the bottom (using the Next slide content) confidence item
- The service item title at the top left
- A timer item at the top right
You can move the template items to where you want them to appear on the screen and change the size and orientation of each one. You can change the formatting of an item by selecting it and using the formatting toolbar at the top of the editing panel.
Note: You won’t be able to change the font for Clock or Timer confidence items.
The different template items have configuration boxes to the left of the template editor. This provides customization of how these confidence items appear. Some examples are shown below.
Current Slide Content Options
For the Current Slide Content item you can specify the format of the preview you want to use with the options being:
- High-contrast main content which just displays the main content of the slide and ignores images, backgrounds, etc
- Full slide displays the full content of the slide
-
Automatic:
- For Songs and Bibles, this setting results in a high-contrast display of the main content
- For other content items, high-contrast will be used when they only have main content but if there are other items, the whole slide will be displayed
Then if, for example, you use specify the Full slide option (on the left below) for a song then it will show the song as it will appear on the main monitor including background or additional elements such as a background. If you use the High-contrast main content option (on the right below), then just the song words are shown.
Next Slide Content Options
For the Next Slide Content item you can specify how much of the next slide you want to preview with the options being:
- One line - shows the first line of the next slide
- Two lines - shows the first two lines of the next slide
- All text - shows all the text of the next slide
-
Full slide - shows the complete next slide
The screenshot on the left shows a preview at the bottom of the slide with two lines showing while the screenshot on the right shows All text selected and the preview item moved to the right of the slide.
Using the Virtual Screen Preview
The Virtual Screen Preview item enables displaying the content of virtual displays on your confidence monitor. The control allows you to specify which virtual display you want to show.
And this enables, for example, showing on your confidence monitor what is being transmitted on the Livestream display.
When you have configured the template to your requirements, click Save to sync your template with your presentation team and update that template wherever it's in use. Find your new template in the Default Confidence settings or the Confidence tab.
Note: You can save over your team’s templates, but not the system templates. If you use a system template as a starting point, you must give it a different name and save it as a new template.
