It's often helpful to see where you are in a service and whether the service is on track. This can be particularly useful when there are key times that need to be kept to. Proclaim supports this using the Target Start Times feature.
You can turn this on in the View menu.
Once you have turned this on, two time-related indicators appear in the Proclaim service.
- On the left, an indication of when you expect to get to a particular point in the service
- On the right, how long you expect each service item to last
The expected time in the Service section of a service is calculated by adding up the expected length of all service items to the expected start time of that section. And the expected time in other sections of the service is calculated in a similar way.
Proclaim estimates the length of each service item based on how much text is on a slide. This estimated value is indicated by a ~ symbol but you can provide your own value if you wish.
If you put the service On Air after the anticipated start time, Proclaim displays a warning message advising you that the service will start late and suggesting how to respond to that. You can remove the warning by clicking the X on the far right when you no longer need it.
While the service is On Air, a green dot at the top of the slide preview window indicates that you have reached that point in the service within the planned target start time.
A red dot indicates that the service is running behind - hovering over the dot shows you how far behind.
